Even though my main online presence is no longer NeonRunnerGirl, running and a love of neon athletic wear will both always be a huge part of my life and who I am. In so many ways, running saved me. Yes, I know this is a cliche statement, but for me, it’s true. Running changed my life. It gave me energy, cleared my head, calmed my anxiety, and allowed me to join a community of like-minded and very interesting people. I will continue to blog about my fitness adventures and running here, but the original NeonRunnerGirl will remain in my personal archives.
I am currently a certified RRCA coach, and I may offer coaching services in the future.

- Running into 2024
Corny title…but it’s where my brain went.
I just went for my first run of 2024. I’m currently drinking my beloved smoothie, sipping on some Kona Kola Nuun (it’s back FOREVER), and contemplating my current training plan.
You read that right! I’m back on a training plan. After giving up running for the second half of 2023, I’m back doing my unconventional walk/run and training once again for a 50K. I’m going to take a second stab at Heartland, but solo this time. Noel is going to be my crew on his gravel bike, rather than run alongside me. This is going to mean a lot of LONG solo training runs.
I’m also planning on adding some stairs and more quad and hamstring strength work. I want to conquer those beautiful hills! I get giddy thinking about seeing that skyline again.

I’ll share more of my training as I go. This is week 0, so the goal is just to get back in the groove of regular workouts, hydration, and recovery.
And now for some leftover black-eyed peas and cornbread! Does anyone else make black-eyed peas for New Years?
